Miami-Dade · Broward · Palm Beach  •  About the crew

Heat plus humidity is an AC emergency. We treat it that way.

South Florida AC Guys restores cooling and dehumidification for homes, condos, and rooftop package units. Open seven days. 24/7 when the system quits in the heat.

A dead air conditioner in South Florida is not a wait-until-Monday problem. Indoor temperature climbs in an hour. Humidity climbs with it. Windows sweat, the house smells closed-in, and a clogged drain pan can soak a ceiling. South Florida AC Guys is who you call at (954) 852-2432 when that starts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Why this climate eats systems

Central air here does two jobs at once: drop the temperature and pull moisture out of the air. When a capacitor fails, a coil ices, or refrigerant is low, you feel the second failure first. The thermostat may still say 78, but the rooms feel swampy. In this humidity that is how mold, warped wood, and a ruined air handler start.

Systems also run nearly year-round. Salt air along the coast pits outdoor coils. Condensate lines slime shut in a season. An undersized replacement short-cycles and never dries the house; an oversized one does the same thing for a different reason.

A no-cool call can be a capacitor, a frozen evaporator from a clogged filter, a drain-line safety switch, or a compressor that is actually done. You get the real cause and a firm price before we start.

What we actually do

Emergency and same-day repair. No cooling, warm air, ice on the lines, water under the air handler, a breaker that will not stay on. Heat emergencies come first, indoor conditions get unsafe for kids, older adults, and pets fast. Common parts ride on the truck so most no-cool calls finish in one visit.

Scheduled repair. Typical failures: contactors, blower motors, thermostats, refrigerant leaks, dirty coils, and drain clogs that dump water into a closet. For ranges, see the South Florida AC repair cost guide.

Replacement and new installs. When a compressor or coil fails on a 12–15-year-old unit, or the system still uses phased-out R-22, throwing more money at it is often the expensive path. We size the new system so it can actually dehumidify, not just dump cold air in short bursts. Free replacement estimates. Start with AC replacement in Miami or repair vs. replacement in Florida.

Maintenance and tune-ups. Coil cleaning, refrigerant check, capacitor and contactor inspection, drain flush, thermostat and airflow. A yearly visit is the floor here; twice a year is smarter because the equipment never really shuts down.

Ductless mini-splits. Repair and installation for additions, garages, and rooms that never cool right. No dedicated ductless URL yet, call (954) 852-2432 and say it is a mini-split.

Rooftop package units. Access, curbs, and after-hours constraints get quoted as their own job.

Where we work

Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. One phone covers all three. We are regularly in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, and Delray Beach, and we take calls from the rest of the tri-county area. We come to the equipment. There is no public shop address on this site.

High-rise closet air handlers, condo condensers with limited roof access, and CBS homes with the air handler in a garage closet are normal days.

What happens when you call

Tell us what the system is doing: no cool, ice, water, a room that never dries, a mini-split throwing a code. Give the city. For a heat emergency we aim for same-day, often within hours.

On site we diagnose, then give a firm repair price, or a free replacement estimate if the unit is not worth another major part. We confirm supply-air temperature and that the drain is moving water before we leave. You should feel the humidity start to drop, not just a blast of air.

Questions we actually get

How do I know I called South Florida AC Guys and not another company with a similar name?
We are South Florida AC Guys at (954) 852-2432 and service@southfloridaacguys.com. Other cooling companies in Florida use similar names. We do not speak for them. If the number on your screen is not 954-852-2432, you are not talking to us.
Why does the AC run all afternoon and the house still feel sticky?
The unit may be moving some air without removing moisture. Low refrigerant, a dirty coil, an iced evaporator, a weak blower, or the wrong size system will drop the thermostat slowly while indoor humidity stays high. That is mechanical, not a setting you fix by pushing the thermostat to 70. Describe the sticky air, not just the temperature.
Do you work on ductless mini-splits?
Yes. Single-zone and multi-zone, including additions and rooms a central system never reaches. There is no dedicated mini-split page yet, so say “ductless” when you call (954) 852-2432.
If the outdoor coil is eaten by salt, is that a repair?
Sometimes. A coil can often be cleaned if the rest of the system is sound. When the fins are gone and the unit is already old, replacement is usually the honest answer. We will show you the coil and give both numbers. Coastal condensers fail this way; inland units more often die from runtime and neglected drains.
Should I keep running the system if it is icing or dumping water?
No. Ice and overflow mean the machine is already in trouble. Running it can flood the closet or take out a compressor that might still be saveable. Shut it off at the thermostat and call for emergency AC repair.
